EL-ROI CENTER FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN EMPOWERMENT. 

The Board is composed of members who bring a wide range of diverse perspectives. Representing multiple generations, the Board benefits from a valuable mix of seasoned experience and fresh insights. Members come from varied professional backgrounds, spanning numerous industries and areas of expertise. The Board's cultural diversity enhances its ability to understand and engage with different viewpoints, while its intellectual diversity promotes innovative thinking and strategic problem-solving. This combination of experiences and skills enables the Board to make well-informed decisions that best serve the organization and its stakeholders.

  • Engr. Dr. Isaac Tanam, Ph.D. - Chairman

    A Lecturer in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of Bingham University, Karu, Nigeria.  He is a former Rector at ECWA International College of Technology (EICT), Jos, where he was involved in capacity building in computing for over 25 years. 

    Dr Tanam is a member of the Leadership Institute (TLI) faculty, engaged in the Spiritual Transformation of Leaders.

    He served 12 years as an Elder in the church and is still involved in leading Bible studies and Sunday school.

  • Mrs. hauwa Iliya - Secretary

    A Chief Lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Zaria—now known as the Federal University of Education, Zaria. A dedicated and seasoned educator, she is deeply committed to transferring knowledge and skills. Her passion for teaching and research was sparked during her time at the Women Teachers' College, Katsina.

    She pursued both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in Kaduna State, Nigeria, and is currently completing her PhD in Home Economics.

    Over the course of her teaching career, which began in the 1980s, she has made significant contributions to academia through numerous scholarly publications, including book chapters and articles in both national and international journals. Her teaching experience spans all levels of education.

    She is particularly inspired by El-roi’s mission to impart knowledge and skills that empower the needy and support the development of the less privileged, helping them realize their God-given potential and become valuable contributors to their generation.

  • Dr. Godwin  E. Imade - member

    I am Godwin E. Imade, a board member of El Roi International. I work as a Research Professor/ Laboratory Director at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health Science, University of Jos/ Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos, Nigeria. I am a member of the building committee of El Roi International. I greatly desire to see the poor, children, and widows and underprivileged helped and empowered for a better life and future.

  • dr. olugbemisola (Gbemi) Obi

    Dr. Olugbemisola (Gbemi) Obi completed her medical school training in Nigeria, a pediatrics residency,  and a neonatology fellowship in the US. She has been teaching students throughout her many years of clinical practice. 

    She recently relocated to South Carolina and is presently a staff neonatologist at Prisma Health and a faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Carolina. Her areas of special interest are neonatal resuscitation, debriefing, and improving the quality of care provided in the NICU. In addition to her love of travel, she and her husband, Stanford, lead medical outreach teams in Southern Africa.

  • Rev. dr. haggai Habila

    Haggai Habila, alongside his family, founded Living Spring Fellowship, where he continues to pastor. He has served as a chaplain for eight years and formerly led the Jos Baptist Prison Ministry. Within Prison Fellowship Nigeria, he held key leadership roles, including Plateau State Chairman and National Prayer Coordinator. Passionate about justice and discipleship, Haggai has impacted lives both in church and prison settings. His broad ministry and life experiences inspired the founding of El-Roi Center for Women and Children Empowerment. After years in education and mission service, he embraced full-time ministry and holds advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies. I’m honored to serve on the Board alongside such dedicated professionals.

  • DR. ELISZBETH jacobs - member

    Elizabeth Jacobs is a retired Professor of Epidemiology who is part of the fundraising committee. She is most excited about helping plant the seed that will grow into a program to protect the most vulnerable people of Nigeria.
