Haggai was called into ministry 26 years ago while teaching in a public high school in Nigeria. He and Mary began a prison ministry, which God blessed. The ministry grew as they trained and developed leaders. They started multiple Bible studies that grew into churches. In 1996 the Lord allowed Haggai to disciple the man who is now the immediate past president of Nigeria. In 2002, Haggai had the opportunity to attend Boyce College, which required him to leave his family behind. Two years later his family joined him, leaving everything to follow God’s leading for their lives.
While attending school, Haggai has served as assistant to International Student’s Supervisor at Southern Seminary and Boyce College. In this position, he saw the needs of other international students and was able to reach out to them during their challenging times. As a family, the Habilas opened their home to other international students to give encouragement, assistance, and sometimes temporary housing to help them adjust to living in a new culture. There is no doubt that it is easier for an international to reach another international because they have so much in common! The Habilas have also assisted in planting Bible Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
Now God has called them to the Pacific Northwest and planted them in Des Moines, WA. Haggai and Mary, along with their three children, (left to right) Magdiel, Michelle and Haziel are starting Living Spring Fellowship and invite you to be a part of what God is doing in the Puget Sound!
