Our Vision

Connecting All Peoples to Jesus - The Living Spring

Dependence on God – His heart, His vision, His glory, His power, His timing, His way, and His strategy should grow out of time spent in prayer and Bible study. One of the best ways of expressing who we are as a fellowship is by explaining our values and what we believe. We have put together this simple LIVING SPRING acronym that describes Our Core Values. These scripture-inspired maxims are the guideposts we use to focus on what we seek to accomplish for Christ as a body of believers.

Core Values

L
earning about God’s love.

We will strive to learn about the love of God for everyone and to demonstrate that by loving each other and the sinners while helping them to turn away from their sin (Deuteronomy 6:4; Deuteronomy 7:13; Deuteronomy 10:12; Psalm 86:13; John 13:34-35; Acts 17:11; 2 Corinthians 5:14).

Intentionally engaging the culture.

We will strive to intentionally engage the culture for opportunities to share the gospel, evangelize, and to proclaim the good news of salvation to the nations, tribes, and tongues (Acts 1:8; Acts 17:16-31; Romans 1:14-16; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Corinthians 4:6).

Variety of worship through veracity of Scripture.

By the grace of God, we will strive to be a multi-ethnic model church. Our church will understand and affirm congregationalism, plurality of elders, and believers’ baptism by immersion. We will be committed to a godly and biblical leadership that is made up of elders and deacons, with lay ministry teams carrying out many aspects of the work of ministry. We will also strive to be intentional in our uniqueness as a multi-ethnic church not to make our worship be about the "how" of worship, or its techniques, but the “what” of worship, God’s desire (Psalm 95:1-3, 6; 1 Timothy 2:8; 1 Peter 2:9).

Investing our resources wisely.

We will strive to be responsible in making godly decisions that will help us invest our resources wisely, including being good stewards of our time and talents acknowledging that everything that we have comes from God. In that regard, we will expect that every Living Spring member invest at least 10% of income into the work of missions and other ministries of the church (Proverbs 3:9-10; Proverbs 11:24-25; 2 Corinthians 9:7; Matthew 6:20).

Network to multiply disciples and leaders.

We will strive to develop a network that allows for multiplication of both disciples and leaders for missional communities (Home Churches or Cell Groups), by the use of the spiritual gifts of every member in order to build the body of Christ (Acts 2:46-47; 1 Corinthians 12).

Gently reconcile and restore the weak and fallen.

We will strive to preach the message of reconciliation and gently seek to restore the fallen Christian  in fellowship other believers and their creator in accordance with biblical standards. (Matthew 5:23-24; Matthew 18:15; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Galatians 6:1-2).

Support and strengthen family relationships.

The family is a fragile entity. That is evident through the rate of divorce that happens every year. We will strive to build strong families and rebuild families that have been shattered by death, divorce, or disappointment through programs that are designed to strengthen marriages, provide guidance for child-rearing, and create partnerships for growing students into Christ-centered young adults (1 Corinthians 7; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19; Ephesians 5:22-33; Ephesians 6:1-4; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; 1 Peter 3:7).

Patiently disciple and equip others to teach.

We will strive to grow towards maturity both spiritually through the knowledge of God’s Word, and numerically by means of evangelism, discipleship, and missional home-churches in fulfillment of the Great Commission (Daniel 12:3; 1 Corinthians 4:6; 2 Peter 3:18).

Recognize the gifts and relevance of people.

Having been called to faith and receiving one baptism from the same Lord, we will strive to recognize and value the gift in one another and our equality for the glory of God. We will acknowledge and celebrate our equality by valuing the services of and for one another as the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 3:28).

Influence to impact lives for the kingdom.

As we steadfastly commit ourselves to the study of God’s Word and prayer, we will strive to live a life that reflects a pattern of behavior that is consistent with scripture so as to influence and impact lives for the kingdom by being true witnesses of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16; Acts 11:26; 1 Corinthians 1:13; 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:14).

Navigate to reach the community with a holistic gospel.

As a neighborhood church, we will strive to know and serve our community in a way that is honoring to God through words and deeds (John 15:13; 1 John 3:16-19).

Giving yourself up for mission service.

We believe there is nothing more impactful than the grace and love of Jesus Christ. We will strive enthusiastically to embraces the call of Christ to spread His message of love to the uttermost part of the Earth (Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).
